Most programs do not need a master case of resin; they need a witness coupon, a few SPDT blanks, or a small lot of pucks tied to a production part. We sell what our molding floor and SPDT bay already buy — without the master-case minimum.

What we ship
Four product families, sized to engineering workflows.
- Witness samples
- Molded coupons or SPDT-turned discs from the same resin lot and process window as a customer's production part. Used for environmental aging, biocompatibility coupons, AR-stack adhesion, and lifetime studies.
- SPDT blanks
- Precision-machined polymer blanks ready for the diamond-turning bay — sized to the customer's SPDT envelope, vetted for the optical band, and shipped with the resin lot and supplier certificate.
- Pucks and rod stock
- Cylindrical and prismatic stock in optical-grade resins for engineering teams running their own SPDT, hand-polish, or assembly trials. Lot-traceable; cert of conformance per shipment.
- Coated witness substrates
- Witness coupons with the production AR or mirror stack applied, for adhesion, abrasion, and environmental qualification work the customer's lab runs in parallel with our own.
Lot traceability
The documentation that travels with every shipment.
- Resin supplier name and resin grade on every shipment.
- Master-case lot number traced through internal lot subdivision.
- Drying and conditioning history captured per program.
- Certificate of conformance with every release; certificate of analysis on request.
- Shelf-life and storage-condition guidance documented per resin family.
When to buy from Sandia, when to buy direct
We are honest about which path makes sense.
- Buy from Sandia when…
- the resin lot needs to match a Sandia-molded production part; you want a single lot trace from polymer through optical surface; or you need small-quantity engineering pucks that resin suppliers will not break a master case for.
- Buy direct when…
- your program is large enough to amortize a full master case from Zeon, TOPAS Advanced Polymers, Mitsui, or your preferred supplier — and you are running molding and SPDT outside our building. We will point you to the right contact.
