Privacy policy

What we collect

• Contact form. Name, company, work email, phone (optional), project notes, and any file you attach. Sent to our inbox by email and stored in that mailbox.
• Newsletter. Email address only. Stored in our mail system until you unsubscribe.
• Analytics (Google Analytics 4). Loaded only after you click Accept on the cookie banner. Captures aggregate usage (pages viewed, referrer, device class, country). IP is anonymized at collection.

Why we collect it

• Contact form data is used to reply to your inquiry and, if the conversation continues, to provide quotes, DFM feedback, and program support.
• Newsletter email is used solely to send the occasional engineering note. We do not share or resell it.
• Analytics tells us which pages help engineers and program teams so we can keep what works and rewrite what doesn't.

Cookies

• consent — a single localStorage value (granted or denied) that records your banner choice. First-party, persisted in your browser until you clear site data.
• _ga, _ga_* — Google Analytics 4 cookies. Set only if you accept the banner. Used to distinguish users and sessions; expire per Google's default retention.

How long we keep it

• Contact records: retained for up to 18 months in our mailbox, then archived or deleted unless an active program requires longer retention.
• Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
• Analytics: retention follows the Google Analytics account setting; we do not export GA4 data into other systems.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@sandiaoptical.com with the request and enough information to identify your records.

Sharing

We do not sell or rent personal data. We do not share contact-form or newsletter data with third parties except where required by lawful order or to defend our legal interests.

Children

This site is intended for engineering and procurement audiences. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a minor has submitted data through the site, contact us and we will delete it.

Updates

We update this policy when our data practices change. The revision date at the top reflects the most recent material change. Earlier versions are kept on file and available on request.
